Breaking News, this just in, people are MAD. Since almost everything in culture is now viewed though a political lens and people have instant access to spew their feelings into the Social Media ether it leads to a bunch of people digitally yelling at strangers who have different point of views. Twitter is just Snark City and there's no way to fix it. I'm guilty of it, certainly, although I try not to attack anyone individually on purpose. My Twitter account is now just to promote podcast/radio stuff and to troll local media & politicians and it's all in fun, I'm not trying to be malicious but it's hard sometimes. The awful Hot Takes that pack my timeline are plentiful. I follow a lot of local comedians and everything is political. Most of these comedians are also Open Mic-ers who aren't particularly funny in my opinion but I know them from running Open Mic's over the years and I like most of them as people so I take the hit and read the garbage the throw out of some sort of obligation. It's obligation I put on myself, not their fault, but for whatever reason I just feel like I shouldn't click that un-follow button. Plus, I really like laughing and scoffing at those tweets privately or with a few of my close friends because I'm a psycho in my own right...
This week on the pod I stumble through getting out my own Hot Takes nervously because I'm afraid of people on the Internet. This week Football is back and I talk a little bit about the USF Bulls squad. Louis CK returns to stand up and women are mad because he hasn't paid the price for his deviancy in their minds & people are buying and burning shoes because controversial former Quarterback turned Social Justice advocate Colin Kaepernick signed a deal with Nike to hock their sweatshop made shoes and gear and everyone is losing their minds calling each other racists and anti-American because they're dopes unaware they are being manipulated by a multi-national corporation.
